Biogeographic distribution
Calcinus guamensisis a tropical coastal hermit crab. It seems to have a rather wide spread distribution, it has been documented in following areas:
- Mariana Islands (Wooster 1984), this is where the species was first described
- Indonesia (Morgan 1991)
- Cocos islands (Morgan 1991)
- Christmas island (Morgan 1991)
- Taiwan (Poupin & McLaughlin 1998)
- French Polynesia (Poupin & McLaughlin 1998)
- Lord Howe Island (Poupin et al. 1996)
- Northern Territory, Australia (Poupin et al. 1996)
- Queensland coastline (Poupin et al. 1996)
- Western Australia coastline (Poupin et al. 1996)
- Hawaii (Poupin et al. 2003)
- Bonin Islands (Shih & Yu 1995)
- Southern Japan (Miyake 1956), it is thought that Miyake (1956) confused Calcinus guamensis with Calcinus latens
- Vietnam (Forest 1958), it is though that Forest(1958) confused Calcinus guamensis with Calcinus vachoni
